Latest Comic: The Maiden Issue of Life Into Comics

Yup, like what magazines usually call their first issue or published post, this is the first ever post of Life Into comics. I have handled a couple of blogs in the past and they have only one thing in common, they are hosted on blogspot and are personal blogs. Okay, those are two reason.

So what can make a good first post for a semi-entertainment and fully personal blog? I think I will start with the Introductions. On second thought I will just reserved the introductions for a separate post on What Life Into Comics is About and the About me page.

Life Into Comics is a Clog: CLOG in Definition

By Chris A.Thursday - May 14th, 2009Categories: Definitions, The Story Behind

What is a clog, by the usual definition.
clog means:

(1) a weight fastened to the leg of an animal to hinder motion
(2) anything that hinders or obstructs; hindrance
(3) a shoe, sandal, etc. with a thick, usually wooden, sole: light clogs are used in clog dancing.

In this domain I will be using the word clog as a noun which will mean Comics bLOG thus CLOG which can also be used as a verb clogging, the process of making a comics blog. The story behind how I made up a new definition of the word clog is to simplify the statement comics blogging or blogging through comics into one word clogging, just like vlogging is to Video Blogging.

I first used this back in my 2008 post in my personal blog that I will soon be shifting the theme of my blog into a “clog”. Here is my first clog back in Dec 01, 2008:

What the heck is a clog?

I made up this term back at November 27, 2008 when I am reading Gery Alanguilan’s Crest Hut Butt Shop Comics at Webcomics which featured a daily short comic skit about his life and struggles. Most of his comics are humorous but was later shifted to a more sadder theme which I dare not to say. He stopped making his daily comics at around June 2007. Then it hit me, he is telling his life through comics, and sometimes a short comics is followed by a description and supporting information behind the strip. Thus, making me come up with a “what if”, what if this is another form of blogging which has not been fully aware of most of us. I tried looking for “comics blog” and “clog” on Google but the results have nothing to do with the unified meaning of “blog comics” I wanted to have. I am not saying I am the first “clogger”, there are a lot of artists out there who I think have done this already but just called it as “blogs”. If they derived VLOG which stands for Video Blog, then I think it is not a bad idea to have another word derived from it, which I would like to coin as CLOG or Comics blog, comics supported by a blog.
